New Virus-Old Technology
The practice of enclosing executable code and messages in graphics files is nearly a decade old. The post 911 news reports stated that encrypted graphics files were used by the terrorist networks for secure communication prior to 2000.
The file formats of most popular graphics standards lend themselves to this type of exploitation; in fact, one of them is designed to allow inclusion of some executable code segments (I won't say which one lest I encourage a hacker).
When we reach the point where content of our comments and posts to a community forum is restricted by fear of hackers and cyber-terrorists; then the terrorists and hackers have won.......
