---Criminals SUCK, not the Patriot Act---

The (anti)Patriot Act is a crime. About the only thing worse than the act is the mindless sheep that support it without having a clue what is in it.

The framers of The Constitution believed it is the duty of every citizen to participate in government. That is the reason they created it the way it is. The act prevents Americans from having a say in government. Remember dubya's famous line? To paraphrase, things would be a lot easier if this were a dictatorship and I was the dictator.

Unless you've read it and are prepared to argue the merits of the (anti)Patriot Act don't be stupid and blindly support it.

Just a guess but you strike me as someone that never reads a contract before signing because the other party told you it is good for you. The Bush/Ashcroft team has set America back almost 300 years with this broad erosion of civil rights. Anyone that supports the act could be termed nothing less than un-American.

The only redeeming quality of the act is that at least some of it will automatically expire in 5 years. I've noticed a conspicuous lack of enthusiasm in Congress to renew those sections. It is a good turn of events that judges are finally ruling it is unconstitutional. Hopefully, for the sake of America and the future of America, the trend will continue until the act is just a bad memory.

To paraphrase Ben Franklin, those that desire to give up freedom for temporary security deserve neither freedom nor security.
