To compromise date, you only need two things
Access, and time. If you have both of those, the data is compromised.

What if I look at data on my screen, and film it with a camera? What if I use remote viewing software to let someone see important data? What if I take screenshots and e-mail them? What if I access data and let someone else see it?

Unless it is encrypted, the data is as good as mine if I have access and time. What's that, you say? What if the data resides on the server? Remove the hds, put them into another server on which I have root/admin/administrator access, and mount the drive. Bingo. Access to data.

Access and time is the key. If I have both, there is nothing anyone can do. If someone is going to steal data, then they can steal it. They did before the invention of the printing press, and they will continue to do it in the future.

The key for employers, any employer, is to hire quality people, and treat them right. Even then, you may get burned.
