"STANDARDS should be open to all..."

Why? I am serious, explain to me why this is a criteria. You see, I am of the opinion that if a company or person is inovative or can come up with an idea then they should be rewarded for it. That my friend is the premise that has driven the US economy to be the strongest in the world. (And provide you with a paying job.)

You make the claim that: "The IETF is about a solution that ALL can apply." What your really saying is they want to make certain that open source can join the card game without having to anty up. (As in licensing the IP they use.)
