This stuff could work . . .
I read a fine article about how to "harden" these eVoting machines. As long as you have NO network connections, you make it a "black box" that only have well defined inputs and outputs i.e. To get the votes out, you run a command and it spit it out - NOT connect and download an access database file. You could certify these black boxes ahead of each election, and place them under seal until the election. This is all very do-able and should be done! NOTE: This approach will eliminate hackers and manipulators, but it won't eliminate crashes! That's why you souldn't use M$ stuff.
