Exactly...
The mases will let the message go in one ear and out the other. The masses are the ones who need to patch. When every event is truly the end of the world, the near-constant superlative innoculation puts the message itself in doubt. When only half the story is told; one set of consumers has a false sense of security over another?

That superlative are necessary to rise above the din lends me no comfort. Reporting on the latest exploit is not sportscasting. This isn't a competitive event between the Nod Crackers and the FOSS/COS Patchers? So why present the situation as one?

Maybe I'm griping about nothing.
