What does this have to do with hackers?
Many major computer companies not only hire hackers, but were also founded by hackers. Bill Gates is a hacker. Netscape had hackers as its top employees. One of them had "hacker" on his business card for his job description. Apple computers was founded by hackers.

The question here is whether computer companies should be hiring criminals or former criminals, and that has nothing to do with hackers. Writing a virus may have nothing to do with hacking, and hacking usually has nothing to do with writing a virus or with criminal activity.

Yes, sometimes hackers break the law, and sometimes Lithuanians rob liquor stores. Would you advocate not hiring Lithuanians because of this?

As usual, this story is devoid of any technical issues. It's no different from asking if any criminal should be hired after release from prison. Or should ex cons only be hired if they change jobs? That's an interesting question for a sociology forum, but I suppose if you stuck to technology issues, you might not have readers left.
