I'll bet you leave your car unlocked with the keys in the ignition too.
True, a determined thief could steal your car no matter what measures you take to stop them, but that is no excuse to leave the door open for them. The idea that doing nothing will not make it more difficult to perpetrate terrorism or possibly avert terrorist acts is ludicrous. I don?t agree with the war in Iraq. I question the original motive of our president in sending so many soldiers to their doom under false pretenses, but I do believe that the situation in Iraq under Hussein was closer to the situation in Germany that the situation in the US. Another note on freedom?. If you want to be free, move to the jungles of Africa or someplace where there are no governments or laws. All humans in any society where there are laws voluntarily give up some of there god given freedoms in order to benefit from the structure of that society. If we were all allowed the precious freedom that you are squawking about, who would stop that thief from stealing your car? You could try, but eventually it would be to no avail. Someone would be stronger, faster, or smarter than you, and you would be walking to work. Indeed the sacrifice of some of your freedom is what allows you to live such as a comfortable life as you do. Total freedom is total anarchy. But how much should you give up? When does it cease to be voluntary for the majority? I think that is the question under debate. One more thought. Just remember that if you don?t like it, there is no reason to raise a big stink. You are totally free to leave.
