Just kidding. If they didn't have a domain "locking" feature enabled on their domain, then eBay screwed up, or if eBay did have a locking feature enabled and they still let the transfer request go through, then the registrar screwed up. Regardless, the blame should fall squarely on the head of the kid who did it. I don't buy the whole "just for fun" angle, as sites about DNS transfers don't just magically appear in a browser unless they are searched for. He knew what he was doing, hence his targets, even if the authoritaties think he "isn't a computer expert." You don't have to be an expert at something in order to commit a crime, in fact it usually because they aren't an expert at it, that they end up being caught.
