but there are 30 million juicy often rich Apple users on the net
Why would anyone bother?

You also say "the kerberos exploit is not in windows". In fact you are unlikely to be in a position to say this, you are in fact reporting the fact that Microsoft claim this. Careful on your authorities.

There could of course be a worse exploit in the Microsoft implementation of kerberos, as yet undiscovered.

Therefore you should be careful not to point to this one flaw and treat it in an unscientifically balanced way: one exploit versus how many for windows?

Windows might get more viruses based on your population model, but without at least the result of a math model analysis, I can't see how you can really know, or even postulate.

Note you don't need any math model to consider discovered exploits. OSX clearly has the advantage by a long long way.

You could argue this is because in fact there a more people looking for flaws in windows.

However classically the Computer Science education band of veterans have pointed out the axiom that the way to make less bugs is to make less software. A powerful argument for the core tenets of Unix:

As McIlroy described it, "the philosophy that everyone started to put forth was 'Write programs that do one thing and do it well. Write programs to work together. Write programs that handle text streams, because that is a universal interface.'"

Windows is not traditionally built on the same tenets, so it is pretty hard to see how it can ultimately compete in the exploit stakes with Unixen and linuxen.
