all operating systems are insecure at some level.

reporting that apple has patched some potential insecurities is useful, so people know to go download said patches before someone creates an exploit.

you forgot some variables in your equation:
number of days after store broke that patch was released - 6
total number of *known* systems compromised *to date* - 0
total number of users using version of osx affected by addressed vulnerabilities - ?
total number of users who dont even know about said vulnerabilities - ?
total number of users who wont patch even if they do know - ?
potential liability to said users due to ignorance or incompetence - ?

just because osx is more secure out of the box than, say, anything from microsoft, does *not* make reporting on any vulnerabilities found or patches released worthless.

so stop worrying about it and go patch!
