I am aware of key loggers
they are tools that can be used by both admins as well as those with ill intent. If it's installed by an admin and properly controlled and utilized then an admin can track a specific user with in a company. Inhouse security checks.

But for a key logger to be installed otherwise, generally means that the system has been compromised by an active hacker. There is a very large difference in "spyware" for UNIX / Linux ands Windows, and that is that Windows will install it for you and never tell you. The *NIX's have to be actively installed via rootkit (active hack) or a very very verrrrry stupid user.

So it's not the same, another reason it's not the same is the attack vectors. If I change my environment just enough so that it's not like every other one out there, I have gained that much more protection (possibly). One other thing, SuSE puts things in a totally different place than say Red Hat or Mandrake, kinda makes it hard to write a simple script, like for Windows, now wouldn't it.
