Not dumb, just doing my job
At one point recently I was assigned the task of verifying the links on a number of our web pages - these are links to property tax jurisdiction information in all 50 states. When countys/jurisdictions don't remember to renew their non-.gov domain, it's frequently taken over by porn sites. Out of several hundred links, I found 5 that redirected to porn sites, several of which kept bringing up a new screen every time I closed one. Since the company I work for tracks ALL of our web use, deleting files and cookies does nothing for me in this case. What I ended up doing was telling my boss and then emailing our network folks - of course, after I updated the web pages so that our clients wouldn't find these bad links.

I would be willing to bet that others have been caught in this sort of situation as well.
