Yes, but...
being fired for incompetence, slovenliness, B.O., or almost anything else, is not even in the same league. Being fired because of porn, especially kiddie porn, is much more serious. Criminal charges may even result from the latter.

Also, it can happen to anybody. I installed a second HD in one of my work PC's a few years back. I got the HD from the IT department. Before formatting it, I looked for existing files. I found an entire Win98 install. I perused the contents and found some porn. I could have turned the guy in that had the disk before I did, but I didn't. The reasons:
1. I actually liked the guy.
2. The material was in his internet cache.
3. There wasn't much of it.

The company I work for let a URL registration lapse. Some porn shop snapped it up, and now anyone who goes to the site listed on our old software packaging gets to view some pretty raunchy stuff. This happened to an intern that we had about 4 years ago.
