Kinda similar to the EV1
In 1996, electric cars were comming onto roads (again after 100
years). they were (still) fast, effiecent, and produced no
emissions. ten years later, almos none exsist anymore. what
happend?
well the companie that made them (Ford, Toyota, and GMC) had
destroyed them (literally) because they say that Hydrogen is
better, even though they had very good electrics with no real
minuses while Hidrogen, o0n the other hand, has been in
development for approximately 10 years and they say it will take
anoter ten years for a viable car.
also, to make hydrogen, it takes tremendouse quantities of
energy, ten times for a litre than what an EV1 uses in a single
charge, and if it comes from coal, that will be even worse than
the EV1 if people charged from coal generators, and hydrogen
will cost AT LEAST TWICE the price of ordinary gasoline. funny
thing is, hydrogen is supported by the same companies that
assembled (and dismantled) electric cars.
but there are a couple EVs out (Venturis and neighborhood
transport), and the SmartCar will have an EV version in 2008, 8
years before the first problable Hydrogen car.
