Apple's problem with market penetration
A few years ago I remember reading of a press conference where
Jobs was asked about taking on Windows in the business sector.
He replied that he did not think Apple had much of a chance.

All of Apple's marketing since then has stressed creativity,
reliability and ease of use. Those ads have tended to be directed
at single users. Apple's business marketing has focused soley
on creative use - its newest target market being video. This is
clearly evidenced by the number of editing and effects
applications that Apple has introduced. It has NOT addressed
common business use, and has not asked common business
users to consider Macs.

Apple's best business market should be small business - ones
with 1 to 10 machines. There are millions of such businesses.
They are the ones that won't have a "systems adminitrator" or
anybody devoted to computer maintenance. The Macs reliability,
security and ease of use should appeal to that group. However
that group is also most likely to know little of computers - other
than using the apps. They are used to Windows and fear the
unknown. Therefore they simply do not consider Macs because
"everyone" uses Windows. Of course they would also face the
added cost of buying things like mac Office for their machines.
Such businesses are generally loathe to spend such a significant
amount of money.

Over the years I've recommended iMacs and eMacs to small
business owners when they complained to me about their
various computer problems. To date, exactly zero have taken
that advice.
