Well spoken, sir.
Yes, people should be disciplined (consistantly) for using work time/resources for personal entertainment, and should be fired (consistantly) when the abuse is blatant and/or offensive (as is the case with porno-surfing at work). However, we all know that there are real and nominal reasons why people are punished. The key is having good policies that are enforced consistantly, combined with a proper balance between justice and mercy. Rules need to be treated as rules, not as weapons (or "tools" to quote a popular term with certain US politicians).

Not possible at your company? Then maybe you should look for another job.
