We share the same concerns and I agree
The bald face truth is that you and I can be tracked right now without any chips. Unless you use cash and that cash has never seen the inside of a bank to pay for ALL of your purchases you can be tracked.

Pay with a credit card anywhere and a record is made of your where abouts
You cannot purchase a plane ticket without a credit card.
You cannot rent a car without a credit card, btw most rental car car companies now use GPS
You just about cannot rent a room in most hotels without a credit card.
If you travel overseas you must present a passport and that info is placed in database.
Bottom line the privilage of having a credit card has opened us up more to invasions of privacy and tracking than any "chips" might. The only difference is with a chip the information will be more immediate/real time. These are just a few pitfalls and I have not touched on things like your habits etc.

I took a trip to Mexico and used my credit cards to purchase plane tickets, hotels and meals. Before I returned I had adverts mailed to me from comapnies I have never done business with or received info from before. Some started out with statements like, "Did you enjoyed your stay at XYZ hotel in Mexico city? Next time consider our facilities at blah blah blah." Same damn thing happened with my wife after a business trip to Las Vegas.

Frankly the way things are today we would have to become hermits to be totally anonymous. As things are now if someone wanted to trace you they can............easily. Neither you or I are criminals, it just amazes me how much our personnal information is sold and traded. We are profiled more than any terrorist or criminal because we represent a source of income and profit.
