Loverock seems the imply that by OUTSOURCING this function, Google can absolve itself of any responsibility.

IMHO, he is wrong!!!!

No company who chooses an outsourcer for business functions can merely point the finger at the outsourcer in the event of problems. They made the decision to do it, then they deserve some of the blame.

This is one reason why I am terribly suspicious of "the cloud". No accountability.
