An MP3 is not a copy. At least no more a copy than one human is from another. At the DNA level they are completely differnt. So much so that it uniquely identifies us. At the binary level a recording off a CD is entirely differnt from the MP3 look a like of the song.

Intersting thought. Some how I don't think it will matter though but interesting.
