What's the point? So people with the keys use them? Is that new? I think not.

Just because someone in IT has an admin password does not mean that they should have access to to other data areas, so if they do, then the company is using poor security methods.

Additionally, it may also be that the company is in violation of privacy laws in regards to employee information, medical information, etc. The EU is very tough on these things, unlike the USA.

I would assume that my boss reads my email and any other electronic communications at any time. The laws here in the USA generally allow such activities, with little or no notice sometimes. Depending on where you live, there may be some notice required, but it is often not much.

Personally, I think that number is low. It probably should be closer to 1/2 or 2/3 instead of 1/3.
