Additional Issues
There are three things at issue in relation to maintenance.
The first is Microsoft's promise of a secure system. This
increasingly seen as an empty promise and puts into
question any promises they might make in future. Second is
increasing Windows complexity. Complexity is an anathema
to stability, security, and maintenance. Third is the volume
of these problems. It's just too much.

As Bill Gates makes a new proclaimation this week
regarding how Microsoft is going to attack spam - it sounds
alot like trustworthy computing prior to Sobig. Microsoft,
though inaction, has contributed greatly to spam and virus
problems. Meanwhile their behavior as a company does
more than any other to inspire malicious actions. So to sum
up - it's been lies, flaws, apologies, and patches - years
worth. You have to admire those spammers, they've taken
their cues from, and partnered with, an experienced
mentor.

regards
