Admittedly Sendmail does have a horrible vulnerability/security/bug track record. On the other hand they aren't in the habit of saying that the problem is minimal or that few users have compalined about it or experienced the problem.

MS saying that it's a small issue for Exchange servers to be hijacked by spammers sounds very lame to me and I'm sure corporate users won't be happy to hear that they are now in the position of possibly sending out soem of the spam that they work so hard to block or filter from choking their networks.

So, while it's no shock that another of their major software packages has a critical vulnerability that enables the hated practice of spamming to continue or even expand, depending on the rqte at which is gets fixed, it may be a shock to their customers to be treated so cavalierly.
