David Berlind is the Jerry Springer of IT
David, please join SCO and go away quietly. You're comments on so many subjects are so far off base you are viewed as a Jerry Springer of IT. I've stopped reading 99% of what you put out. This article was the exception that lead me to respond.

Your articles are a desparate attempt to get people to view your pages, and there is no real value in the IT space. If it weren't for other authors I would have canceled my subscription a long time ago.

I doubt you own AMD stock. I think you are just completely ignorant to what is happens in any CTO's office. I think you have a Opteron at home and it makes you feel good, so you start spewing nonsense. Either that or you are trying to squeeze Intel for advertising dollars.

Opteron plays in the HPC space due to price performance. Other than that they don't have any experience in the enterprise space that a IBM, Sun, or Intel has. Just as it has taken Microsoft many years to grow into entering the enterprise space the same will happen with AMD. There's more to supporting a chipset than building it with IBM's help. AMD needs to assist the developers, manufacturers, address errates, heat issues, scalabilty issues, etc.

You would be laughed out of any CTO's office on Wall Street with your juvenile comments.

Have you thought about working at the National Enquirer?
