You missed the part where the author said that the patching is only for the core OS and doesn't address other programs that might need fixes at the same time.

I will add that it is NOT one-stop shopping unless you mean that you go to Microsoft's website and wade through all the malarkey to get to the patches you might need. NO WAY should you let the Auto Update do it for you! Unless, of course, you like your doorstops to be big and have a cup holder
