So far I haven't seen much of an issue with paying for new infrastructure. That is, and will continue to be, paid for by the same big business that's paid for the fiber under DC and elsewhere.

I think you're ready to give up a fight you're not losing yet. All it takes is a thought before installing an app that promises the world for nothing. Like everything else, education is key, not giving up.

And if the "surrender terms" include losing control of your pc, and giving a good hacker the chance to steal your credit card numbers (which I can't see any way to avoid) then you're getting the short end of the stick, willingly, after only the first round has been fired.

I for one believe my freedom and security is worth fighting a little harder for. But it's your choice, spend your time securing your computer or spend it calling the banks and credit reporting services to remove the $15,000 in the bogus charges after the hackers have had their way with you and your credit.
