But the point is, DLLs aren't necessarily a good thing. They CAN be provided everybody plays nice. But that's not always the case. Once Linux has as many software vendors writing for that platform as Microsoft does we'll see if they have their own version of DLL Hell (I was trying to avoid the profanity ;)) Actually Linux already has (or at least last I experimented) their own version. It's dependency hell. If you haven't got the library the program you want to run needs, you have to find it. Debian's apt-get takes care of that. Have RPMs yet?
