Wrong!!!! I am a human rights advocate, and have a doctorate.
Since you believe people should have no rights when it is a question of national security or crime deterrence, where does it stop?

Why don't we allow the police to indiscriminately search people's homes and computers at will - just think how much crime we could prevent, and we might just foil the next terrorist attack.

How about "pat down" searches for everyone at any time, when people are walking down the street? That way, we could ensure that no one is carrying weapons.

How about cameras everywhere, even in bathroom stalls? People could be on video all the time where they work, you could install cameras in each person's home, and monitor their daily activities 24/7? The same police that could search your house at will could also check if your cameras are operational, and if anyone thought to disable them or interfere with them in any way, then they could be carted off to jail. This is guaranteed to keep us 100% safe, right?

Of course, all your financial and medical records would be public, and anyone in the government could review them at any time, because this would be a great terrorist deterrent.

Finally, to identify US citizens, we could all be microchipped like cats and dogs, and/or have our SSN tattooed on a visible part of the body. This way, illegals could be easily detected, and terrorists could never get fake ID.

I do not know about you, but I would rather kill myslef than live in such a "100% secure" paradise.....
