I applaud Google for handling the matter at the request level. While there may or may not be a significant security threat here, it is presented by the Pentagon as a threat to the lives of American citizens and soldiers. Perhaps it is wiser to require attack planning to be done onsite rather than over the internet from anywhere in the world. After all, with onsite reconnaissance, those who wish us harm will run the risk of being detected.
