Ok now i hear your point..
and I will agree being paranoid has its perks happy Im paranoid about other things, not my credit/debit card being abused because the MINUTE I cannot find it, im on the horn to the bank and having that card cancelled - to limit my liability and make sure my money is safe.

I dont tie my savings to my debit card either, mainly to keep myself from accessing it but I can still do "instant" transfers online..but I never thought about it that way either. But let me ask you this, and its rhetorical, is your savings account tied to your checking account for over draft protection? THATS where people really get screwed if ID theft happens because the person runs up the card and spills into the savings too.
