I live in "Hurricane Country". For that specific reason, I always have some cash on hand. More than once, I have encountered "network" problems using a debit card. I have had the embarrassment of taking a lady to dinner, only to have the card unable to be processed (Later I found out that it was due to a problem at the business). They told me that my card was declined. I went across the street to a bank ATM and withdrew enough to cover the check. Then I showed that fool the receipt from the ATM. I have subsequently learned that when you need it the most, technology can fail. One last reminder - NO ONE refuses to accept CASH!!!
