This so called problem is just another example of media driven ignorance.
The RFID chips which will be used for retail tagging will be READ-ONLY. These chips will only contain an arbitrarily long serial number to identify the products. Detailed product information (e.g. price, human-readable description, manufacturer, etc.) will be stored in a database.
