SP2 might raise the bar on protection of Windows XP from intrusions, but from what I'm hearing it also renders the remote management capabilities inoperable. I haven't heard yet what effect the firewall will have on pushing group policies, scripts, etc., but if these functions get gooned like remote management, a lot of Windows support folks are going back to touching boxes. That pretty much nullifies all of the advantages of Active Directory and Windows XP from the standpoint of desktop support. And I'd be willing to bet that the enterprise security folks are going to find the scans they use to look for problems bouncing off, too.

Anybody have any comments about this? I'm really curious to hear from folks who have been tinkering with the pre-release SP2. We simply haven't had time here.
