When I started programming the hottest computer was an IBM 360 (about the size of a Hum-Vee).
What we were taught right from the start was to design applications for users.
That should still stand today. Users should not have to be savvy, they should be able to turn on their PC and use the software installed with no problems.
Linux is in no way user friendly. It has to be learned. And that's just lazy design.
Windows when it first came out was onto something. But the golden rule was soon forgotten.
