3,000? How old ARE you?

Because, yeah, I had sex with an older cousin (I was 6, he was 8), but that doesn't (and didn't) make sex with an adult OK! Adults showed interest, but thank goodness I was protected by my family and the predator's fear of getting caught, as it was drilled into me that I should ALWAYS LISTEN TO AN ADULT. I'm 54 and was raised at a time when sex was rarely mentioned even in a teaching situation. And sexual predators? Never mentioned. Sex with between an adult and child? Never discussed. I've had several encounters where an adult showed interest in having sex with me (as a child AND a teenager); I was scared to death because I didn't know how to say no to them (or that I COULD say no). Again, it was their own fear of getting caught that (thankfully) prevented them from taking advantage of me.

So no, I don't think the laws are wrong. And with 3,000 sexual encounters in your lifetime, to date, I don't think you you were well protected or treated by the adults in your life.
