Encryption is a trap
Sooner or later someone will discover the secret to factoring prime numbers by an equation instead of a complex (and time-intensive) algorythm.

When that happens *everyone's* encryption is suddenly toast. We're building a house of cards and sooner or later somebody's going to build the better termite.

I've no better answer than encryption right now, but what happens on the day we discover the real secret to prime factorization?
