How convenient!
Do you recall the political noise in the Senate about retroactive immunity for the telecoms? WHY do the telecoms need that immunity?

So, tell me again why we should give up all of our electronic privacy? If electronic spying like this was so effective, why are they telling us now how badly they need to do it here to protect us? Consider the fact the NSA has been spying on international communications for years, doing internationally essentially what they say they now need to do domestically?

If electronic spying like they say they need to do actually works as well as they say it does, then riddle me this Batman, why did the NSA/CIA stand down and let 9/11 happen? The NSA has been gathering elint globally for at least 50 years, and you mean to tell me that DOMESTIC electronic SPYING would help them prevent another INTERNATIONAL attack on our country?
