Lifelock founder has a sketchy background
Do a Google on lifelock founder fraud for the expose that the Phoenix newspaper and Wired magazine did on the sketchy background of one of LifeLock's founders (now "resigned" but giving all indications that he's still in the day to day mix, according to the reports). Many people I know are concerned about the founder of an identity protection service having been charged with identity theft and personally barred from Credit related businesses by the FTC based on shady activity.

Plus the CEO's identity was stolen using the SSN that he brazenly publishes in advertisements

Those issues aside... I know that Lifelock SOUNDS great, but the problem with the approach of continuously placing fraud alerts on your credit files is that you can't get instant credit for yourself when you want it. There is too much friction in the unlocking process. Once again, you are having to pay to have them make your life harder, instead of the credit bureaus making their system just properly protecting your credit file using voluntary consumer provided fingerprint data, for example.
