duh, duh, duh
I volunteer to do free after school math tutoring at a public high school. In order to volunteer my time, I had to have *all* of my fingerprints digitally scanned and transmitted to the FBI -- each finger was scanned individually and each whole handprint. Do I think they just checked them against known criminals and threw my prints away when I was cleared? Not a chance...

Every employee and volunteer at the school district (a big one) has to have their fingerprints scanned this way and sent to the FBI. Probably every employee in every public school district is in the FBI database.

I bet there are lots of other non-criminals with full sets of fingerprints in the FBI database...more than we suspect.

So we know they scan prints of gun owners, school employees, school volunteers,...can anyone tell about any other situations (non-criminal) where you were required to have your full set of prints scanned and sent to the FBI? It would be interesting to know all the different ways they collect prints.

I am probably just paranoid, but it seems to me nowadays that every US citizen and every US resident is considered a potential criminal. (but they still have a hard time catching the real criminals...unsolved crime percentages are shockingly high)
