Taken too far!
Do you actually know how fingerprint data is stored? This data can be stolen and copied and unlike a card or other forms of disposable ID you can't get rid of your fingerprint.

It is now well known that any database storing in excess of 6 million fingerprints will create false matches and just won't be reliable.

Do you also know that all EU governments now plan to share identity data, would you really like police and officials in all those former Soviet states having access to your personal data?

There are plenty of alternate and current methods of identifying someone that are less intrusive. The biggest problem I have at the moment is the laws surrounding the proposals which don't give you sufficient access to audit the data being held about you, it will get to a point where it will be almost impossible to know where and what information the Government is storing on you.

The whole system is balanced in favour of bad governments and not the citizen. The UK Government is planning to share all data with all Government departments/agencies and even local authorities. Could you tell me why someone at my local council would need access to my health records or why an NHS employee would need to see my council tax records?

They are taking it too far! Lets just hope we will see the end of this Labour Government next year, as they are the only political party pushing all this.
