ID, Please?...
Personally, I'm at a loss as to why people freak everytime the topic of a national or international biometric database comes up.

A US Citizen's expectation of cyber privacy tanked decades ago when computer databases were first established. The moment you receive a Social Security number, your identity, credit score and demographics are fair game for both the government and Big Business.

Although biometric databases currently exist mainly for those with criminal records, there is sound reasoning in using fingerprints or iris scans as the primary ID for everyone:
It is the one form of ID that is currently impossible to forge.

Scammers cannot ruin your credit by copying or stealing your fingers. Terrorists cannot sneak onto a plane by changing their eyes. Eventually, the need to carry passports, drivers' licenses and credit cards could be reduced or almost eliminated -- and, since our biometric ID is part of our creation, I fail to see how anyone could object to it on religious grounds.

An international database would make everyone's life safer and easier. Big Brother is already watching you, with or without biometrics.
