Why so alarmist?
While your points are true, don't you think you presented them in a little bit of an alarmist manner?

Take the 911 issue. The fact that the 911 center does not immediately know your exact location only matters IF you're 1) able to actually dial 911 and 2) not capable of telling them your address. While that's possible, especially for people with health problems, it seems an unlikely scenario for many people. And of course, this issue exists if you've replaced your landline with a cell phone as well. (Even if your phone has 911 GPS service, not all 911 centers can access that information, nor is GPS accurate enough to know your exact location if you are in a dense population area, or an apartment.)

This would have been a good article if you'd have presented the pros/cons in a more balanced tone.
