It is time that the courts are catching up with the computer age. The guy tried to harm the company he was working for, reguardless of his reasons.
Not sure why some felt the need to drag in other aspects like war criminals etc, but it is their right to do so, insured by some of the same war criminals they are talking of. Nice thing about living in the US is that if you dont like it you are free to leave. You just need a saleable skill.
Last, its slightly disconcerting that some have indicated that the crime was really getting caught. If the guy was a machinist that intentionally tried to damage a CNC mill would you still beleive that his crime was getting caught? (not in reply to any one person, understand that some or all may be making a comment of the overall ineptitude)
