Fine idea
Want to tell me again how banning iPods (and their ilk), disk on keys, any portable usb enabled device is a bad idea?

While we're at it, we should go back to core memory and 36-inch disk platters, too.

A law against small storage devices would be like using a Daisy Cutter to kill a fly: it would wipe out everything in the neighborhood with the possible exception of the fly itself.

Just as a for-instance, your proposed legislation would result in killing digital photography. I suppose Kodak and Fuji would like that, except that Kodak is getting out of the film business anyway and Fuji has become one of the largest distributors of miniature storage devices.
