Sure MS should spearhead the partnership.
Why not? ZDNET's own headlines show that Microsoft is well versed in security problems. Below are just a list of ten recent headlines. I did run into an odd Google news search result when I entered the words Microsoft and suh suh suh. Still cannot say security in the same breath with EMESS. A blank page came up with the word bwahahaha.

1. 'Important' Windows flaw could turn critical
2. Microsoft: 'Real progress' on security
3. Microsoft finds more 'critical' flaws in Windows
4. IE usage drop--slip or blip?
5. Microsoft delays patch management tool
6. Microsoft staffer charged with stealing search code
7. Fixing the flaws in Microsoft's big picture
8. Old-school worm loves Windows applications
9. The attack of the $2 million worm
10. Reheated Bagle comes with side of source code
