some comments:
1) IF MS does become the most secure OS, good for them. This is a big if, though. I don't beleive it's possible w/o rewriting the whole OS from scratch (ala. Longhorn).

2) Windows beign able to do hig end gamming over DOS has much les to do with windows than it has to do with hardware. Wehn Win95 first came out, it was a major resource hog.. now there is enough overhead in affordable hardware that you have resources left over after windows to run the games.... it's STILL going to be slower, than if you had a dedicated OS and drivers.

3) The security is NOT the only reason to not ike Windows... the proprietary lock-in is another.. SA also adds a negative factor here.

4) Your perception that Firefox is only more secure seeming because less people use it is patently false. It's inherantly more secure, because it' snot tied directly into the OS.
Also, take a look at the "Mozilla flaw" from last week, which wasn't a Mozila flaw. In reality, it was a flaw in the way Windows handled the "shell" call. The only "Flaw" in Mozilla was that they allowed for that process. In less than 24 hours after the vulnerability was reported, they had an update that disabled the windows service from being executed through Mozilla. MS on the other hand, took over a week fix the SAME flaw.
Your "pressure to get it fixed," theory does not hold water, considerign how long it has taken MS to release patches.
