Real Progress?
Right after this story posted, two others posted about Microsoft issues. The one showing up top now concerns an "important" flaw that might actually be critical.

So much for security. And these aren't new problems. A lot of the openings come straight from the patches. Close one and another opens. It seems to me that the testing phase is skipped and we all get to be the guinea pigs.

I gave up on patching and rely on hardware/software firewalls and third-party apps to keep my PC secure. Virus count=ZERO. Same with unwanted adware (I do allow the ad support in Eudora to run, but will likely be switching totally to Thunderbird in the near future).
