Yes, as the most widely distributed OS with flaws and exploitable features
MS takes much of the blame, as any software that fits a monoculture, but Zdnet breeds a sort of "its okay (for these viruses and worms to exist) because (we) don't like/hate/condemn Microsoft, and that bit makes it fine.

No, it doesn't and a lot of virus writers probably ride the wave of anti-MS sentiment as part of their pride and joy in derailing a shaky train.

I'm all for MS producing a solid, stable, secure system, and reinforcing, secure, stabilizing the ones before it (since so many ppl use the older software with and without consideration), but I'm not for virus writers, phishermen, spammers and who ever makes computing less enjoyable. It doesn't make them good people just cause its bad Microsoft, nor the bashers part of a solution.
