Real Simple solution
First and foremost KEEP THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF POLICY making.

Second (This is where the governemnt can do "some good") Have BallmerGates recall all the swish cheese software they have out there ["ala Firestone tires] and don't let them sell anything till they lock down Windows.

If ya know where the door is open why not close the thing? Wild Willy Gates himself said that Microsoft's OS and code was critical to national security. So does not simple logic with most all the attacks being aimed at and through Windows OS dictate pulling this dangerous product from the market? Hell my hillbilly great grandaddy was smart enough to replace a defective door on the barn when the livestock kept getting out and stolen. Close Windows and most of the problems will simply go away.

Oh yeah and before ya decide to flame me I ain't no ABMer this message was submitted through as much as technically possible locked down Win 2000 box.
