Oh PULEASE...
Lets see, load Kazaa and you load half a dozen spy ware apps, these apps load other apps, those load virus's and you want to cry for the end user? Or how about, come to our web site and we'll grow your penis/breasts/whatever 10 more inches. DUH! Or hey here's even better ones, install this search bar, install this shopping aid, install this "FREE" anti-virus application that is a virus, on and on...

I say this to you in complete honesty. I don't load what I call "stupid ware" on my Win XP machines, I keep the machines updated, and I have NEVER had a virus on any of them. Never, not once. Now I assure you, there is nothing magical about my version of Windows XP or how it is installed. It's all about using a common sense approach to using the internet.

Idiots that open unknown e-mail attachments, Linux users that run their machine as root, admins that aren't knowledgeable about what they are doing or security in general, people that think A/V software is a magic shield, all need to have a swift kick in the pants! Oh but they can get infected just by going to a web site. Baloney, I haven't heard of a user having had it happen. Oh sure there is someone, somewhere that had the misfortune, but people get them everyday and this has been a minor problem. (So far)

Folks like yourself come here and spout off about how horrible MS is and that you are safe because you run an OS no one (desktop) would bother to write a virus for. It simply isn't worth the effort. (NOTE: That other open source products with a larger base are constant targets. Apache comes to mind.) I also seem to remember a good number of your posts concerning DRM and copyright protection systems claiming in no uncertain terms there is no such thing as a secure system and the hackers will ALWAYS find a method around it. In fact you have espoused that; the more prevalent that DRM becomes, the more likely it will be hacked even faster. From one side of your mouth you claim nothing, especially big targets, are safe from hackers, and from the other side you damn MS for having been victim to that you claim can't be stopped. Does the irony of that escape you???

I have a suggestion, change your name from SquawkBox to something like Thinker, maybe it will help...
